Can you tell me how many martyrs
died there at Tabarsi?
I heard there were many deaths
of the Babis, heretics of Islam
Ya Sahib'u'Zaman!
The Shah raised an army
to stop us from making
our way to the shrine
When we stayed in the hostel
the people got their rifles
to shoot the worshippers
And I'm telling you
They said they believed in
a Man from Shiraz
They said they were fighting for
the triumph of His Cause
The Shah's men
rushed at our fort
but we were sure
to hold them back
A gunshot
wounded our Mulla
and he fell down
from his horse
And I'm telling you
the Light was getting brighter that day...
Riding forth to the sun
with the cry of Ya Sahib'u'Zaman!
The Shah's men swore
on the Holy Book
that they would not harm us
We left the shrine
leaving our lives behind
Martyrs for His Cause
They say they are waiting on
Him Whom God Shall Make Manifest
Riding forth to the sun
with the cry of Ya Sahib'u'Zaman!
